(“Selamat Datang”: “Welcome” in Malay language.)The opening of this fragrance features the scents of Tapai Pulut (a Peranakan sweet dessert made of fermented glutinous rice) and a rich concoction featuring Pandan (screwpine) leaf mixed with coconut milk and Gula Melaka (Malaccan coconut sugar). Apart from the sweet combo that “Nyonya kuih” is famous for, the scent also shines with a floral heart including jasmine sambac and violet, enlightened with rare natural Orris butter. The juxtaposition between the floral bouquet and Nyonya desserts creates an interesting effect of East-meets-West gourmand-like scent that smells like no other.
